ChapelTec is committed to developments to aid disease monitoring, to minimise the need for invasive tests to monitor disease. Our coiled oesophageal string test (CEST) is our leading product under our GITec division.

We have a particular focus in devices to help patients with gastrointestinal disorders.

Minimally invasive monitoring of disease activity, CEST:

CEST or coiled oesophageal string test has been developed as a simple way of monitoring patents with oesophageal disease. The simple device is easy to swallow, safe and comfortable. It is a means of sampling oesophageal or stomach fluid. This fluid can then be analysed in a laboratory to measure specific biomarkers to monitor disease activity.

CEST tests have been donated to University Hospital Southampton to help with research on a condition called eosinophilic oesophagitis (EoE). Other potential applications include cancer and reflux oesophagitis.
